 BU Today spoke with Coach Jay Pandolfo, co-captain Shane Lachance and assistant captain Quinn Hutson about the opportunity to bring home hardware from the Frozen Four after the previous two squads fell short.

“They wanted to get back there. When you have success two years in a row and get to the Frozen Four, it’s a big deal,” head coach Jay Pandolfo (CAS’96) said following the Terriers’ March 29 NCAA Regional Final win. “But when you don’t finish a job off, it’s disappointing.”

In both NCAA tournament games, the Terriers hadn’t scored the first goal and found themselves tied entering the third period. When the lights are at their brightest, this team has proven difficult to crack.

“We’ve come from behind in a lot of games all year,” Quinn Hutson says. “We don’t get nervous when we go down.”

►For freshman defenseman Sascha Boumedienne, whose impressive progress was featured earlier in the week by College Hockey News, the season will continue after the Frozen Four. 

He's been named to Sweden's 18U roster for the World Championships that will be played in Frisco, Texas, later this month. Boumedienne's blueline partner Tom Willander played for Sweden in the U18s before arriving at BU, while Alexander Zetterberg did the same last Spring.

Clayton Keller's 27th goal on a power play was the game-winner as Utah routed Seattle, 7-1.He added an assist and now has 84 points, two shy of his career high set two seasons ago.
