In a hard- and closely-fought game at Conte Forum, #5 BC edged the Terriers on a tie-breaking tally late in the third period. BU had responded three times to Eagle leads earlier in the contest with a pair of goals from Captain Patrick Curry and one from Patrick Harper. Neutral zone turnovers proved especially costly for BU.
The Eagles struck first when Logan Hutsko was sent on a breakaway at the nine minute mark of the first period and beat Sam Tucker five-hole. Seven minutes later Dom Fensore dished the puck to Harper along the right boards. He skated to the high slot and ripped a shot past goalie Spencer Knight—with Jack DeBoer creating traffic in front--to tie the score.

BC answered quickly, following a center ice turnover as Mike Hardman skated behind the Terrier net and scored on a wrap-around to give BC a 2-1 lead after one.
Terriers would get the only second period goal. At the eight-minute mark, Curry rang a shot off iron, but BU kept pressing the attack. Cam Crotty skated down the right side and found Logan Cockerill on the doorstep for a redirect attempt that was saved, but Curry banged home the rebound to draw BU even at 2-2.

Early in the third, BC regained the lead on Hutsko’s second of the night. Unmarked, he one-timed a feed to the slot from behind the net past Tucker. Once again, BU responded, this time on a power play. After David Farrance fanned on a shot attempt, Trevor Zegras saucered a pass to Curry in the high slot for a one-time blast that beat Knight to the glove side.
Here's a look at the second Curry goal.

The game-winning sequence began when Robert Mastrosimone lost the puck in the neutral zone leading to a 2-on-1 break for the Eagles. Julius Mattila passing attempt glanced off a diving Farrance and sneaked past Tucker on the stick side.
BU pulled Tucker for an extra skater with two minutes left and then a BC penalty created a 6-on-4 advantage for the Terriers, but they were unable to generate an equalizer.
"We move on and take the positives," BU coach Albie O'Connell said. "We played well. ... A little bit of a bad bounce, bad luck. They scored two goals on bad puck management by us. I thought BC played very well. Their speed was a factor."
