In perhaps their best effort of the season, Terriers convincingly defeated #12/9 Harvard, 5-2, at Agganis Arena. Five different Terriers found the net as BU rebounded from a pair of shutout losses. Senior Patrick Harper had a goal and two assists, while Cam Crotty had a goal and an assist and David Farrance added two helpers.
BU grabbed an early lead at 1:21 when Harper pick-pocketed a Harvard defender in the high slot, pushing the puck to Trevor Zegras who broke in beat Crimson goalie Cameron Gornet. We snapped our scoreless streak with some hard work in our own zone and a pretty finish. #GoBUpic.twitter.com/3BTOR3yiJB— BU Men's Hockey (@TerrierHockey) December 4, 2019
Terrier immediately went on a power play with a chance to add to the lead, but Harvard’s Reilly Walsh scored a short-hander to tie the score.
BU regained lead at 7:30 when Ethan Phillips deked past a Crimson defense, closed to bottom of the left circle and wristed a shot that went off Robert Mastrosimone and into the net. Farrance had the secondary assist. And we're up 2-1 thanks to this move by Phillips ... off Mastro and in. #GoBUpic.twitter.com/4kOeKvuFwx— BU Men's Hockey (@TerrierHockey) December 4, 2019
The middle period was scoreless until the 17:37 mark. On a delayed penalty, Kasper Kotkansalo passed to Farrance who skated to the left circle and whipped a cross-ice pass to Patrick Curry who one-timed a shot past Gornet.

BU struck again five minutes into the third when Jamie Armstrong won a puck battle in the corner of the offensive zone and sent a rolling puck to Crotty, whose slapper beat Cornet.
At 15:25, Harvard crept closer on Jack Drury’s power play goal. In the final minutes with Gornet pulled for an extra attack, Sam Tucker made a five-bell save on Harvard's Casey Dornbach and the rebound went from Crotty to Harper, who eluded a Harvard defender and sailed the puck from his own blue line into the empty cage.
In another strong performance, Tucker stopped 23 Harvard shots. Kotkansalo was +3 for the game.
Pleased with his team’s performance, Coach Albie O’Connell said, “Well, it was nice to score a couple The guys played well, I thought, from the start of the game to the end of the game.”
He added, “I think we got contributions from everyone. Tuck made a huge save. It could’ve gone 4-3. He made a highlight-reel save on a one-timer.”
