#5 UMass broke a 1-1 tie midway through the third period and added two more tallies to defeat the Terriers, 4-1, at the Mullins Center in Amherst. It was another busy night for graduate transfer goalie Sam Tuckerwho made 36 saves, including five during a major penalty to BU in the second period.

A five-on-three UMass goal by late in the first period was matched by Cam Crotty’s first goal of the season, midway through the middle period. Mitchell Chaffee’s second goal, an unassisted effort at 10:12 of the third, proved to be the game-winner. The Minutemen would add an even-strength goal by Matthew Kessel and an empty-netter by Colin Felix after BU pulled Tucker for an extra-attacker. Check back for additional coverage
