East Islip, N.Y. forward Robert Mastrosimone is back in action, recovered from a broken ankle suffered while blocking a shot at Red Wings’ development camp.

Mastrosimone told NHL.com that he’s anxious to be part of the BU-BC rivalry. Detroit GM Steve Yzerman commented: "He's really a skilled, competitive kid with great hands and great hockey sense. He needs to fill out, but his skill level and hands are exciting."

Another Long Islander, 2023 recruit Ryan Fine (Mid-Fairfield Rangers, Center Moriches, N.Y.) is rostered at the elite STX 68 Combine for '05 birthdates. 2021 recruits Tyler Boucher and Jeremy Wilmer and 2022 recruit Devin Kaplan participated in this event in recent years.

Former Terrier captain and All-American Kevin Shattenkirk, whose contract was bought out by the Rangers, was snapped up quickly by Tampa Bay. He signed a one-year, $1.75M deal

Dante Fabbro, who joined Nashville after BU’s season ended and skated for the Predators in the playoffs, took NHL.com to the rink in Burnaby, B.C., where his hockey career began.

Wade Megan, who captained the Terriers in Coach Jack Parker’s final season behind the bench (2012-13), is retiring after a six-season pro career. He spent most of last season with the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids as well as 11 games with Detroit. Originally drafted by Florida, Megan played 15 NHL games and scored his only NHL goal with St. Louis in 2017.
